Startup OU
The University of Oklahoma's starting point for entrepreneurship, Startup OU is an entrepreneurship hub that fosters and champions the next generation of founders and entrepreneurial talent. Our organization serves as an entry point into the University of Oklahoma, state, and regional startup ecosystems; a connection point for startup founders and university resources and talent; and a launch point for university-affiliated and community startups into the state and regional economies.
In addition to serving as an open coworking space that is available to all students, Startup OU offers three key programs to support anyone in Central Oklahoma pursuing careers in entrepreneurship.
The Launchpad offers aspiring founders training, hands-on support, and up to $10,000 of funding to explore the viability of their ideas and convert those same ideas into revenue-generating ventures.
Startup OU engages all startup and small business concepts, regardless of size, industry or industry vertical–while still continuing to play a critical role in launching spin-out technology startups commercializing university-owned intellectual properties.
The Talent Studio offers upskilling opportunities for anyone who is interested in developing their skills to support entrepreneurial activity. This includes events such as skills workshops, pitch competitions, and hackathons.
Additionally, the Talent Studio houses our internship program, which is available to any student at the University of Oklahoma who is interested in working for a startup or assisting in technology commercialization.
The VC Bootcamp teaches students with an interest in venture capital how to evaluate startups for investment. In addition, participants receive ongoing training and mentorship from experts in the field.
Through these core program areas, Startup OU has supported numerous students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other central Oklahomans in launching new ventures and creating new opportunities.
